The CJ Morgan Foundation X ML

The CJ Morgan Foundation X ML

The Christopher “CJ” Morgan Memorial Scholarship Fund’s mission is to transform the lives of students by awarding scholarships to those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, community service, and involvement in extracurricular activities. This scholarship fund was started in memory of Christopher “CJ” Morgan, a Chicago native who came of age in West Orange, New Jersey where he connected with our founder here at MaryLou Jewelry, Gordonnay Gaines. CJ was a bright spirit with a contagious smile and unwavering work ethic. As a member of the wrestling team and a Law and Legal Studies Major at the United States Military Academy, CJ was the definition of brain and brawn. He carried himself humbly and truly was a positive force for everyone around him. On June 6, 2019, CJ tragically passed away in a training accident involving a military vehicle. Yet, his legacy lives on through our efforts to raise money to help young men and women walk in his same vision as they matriculate through college and make the transition into adulthood.

Last Sunday, August 27th, 2023, MaryLou raffled off a gift certificate in support of the CJ Morgan Scholarship Fund. An attendee had the opportunity to win a $100 voucher towards any MaryLou original or custom creation. Proceeds from the raffle were donated to the CJ Morgan Scholarship Fund to help send a young student to college.

Your willingness to donate to this fund can make the difference in a young student’s life.
The CJ Morgan Foundation’s purpose is clear: as long as poverty, injustice, and inequality persist, none of us can truly rest. We want to encourage continuous support of the Christopher CJ Morgan Foundation and all of its efforts to make a difference in the lives of emerging leaders in our community.
